LAVEEN, AZ (AZFamily) — More homeowners in Laveen are reporting costly flooding damage after recent rainstorms, expanding concerns first highlighted in an On Your Side report two weeks ago.

Shannon Chandler, a resident of the Dobbins Village neighborhood, said the flooding was unlike anything she had seen before.

“It actually looked like a river,” Chandler said. “We had pallets, like the big wooden pallets, we had manure, we had everything that you could possibly imagine floating down the street.”

The water rushed down streets and filled retention basins, causing more than $20,000 in damage to common areas in Chandler’s community.
