MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. ( WWSB ) — A 25-year-old Palmetto woman died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing US 301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened along US 301, roughly five miles from another deadly pedestrian crash that occurred earlier in the day.
Pedestrian killed in crash on U.S. 41 in Bradenton
Troopers said the woman was walking north along the side of the road when she attempted to cross US 301. An 80-year-old Bradenton man driving a Lincoln sedan struck her, according to FHP.
The woman died at the scene. The driver was not injured, according to troopers.
The crash remains under investigation.
