More than 200 turtles, including the critically endangered Kemp's Ridleys, Loggerhead and Green sea turtles, were brought to the hospital this month to recover. The sea turtles were hypothermic when they were found by Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary staff and volunteers; some floating or stranded on Cape Cod beaches.
“This is the ER phase,” said Kennedy. “We’re moving into the ICU phase, then kind of that recovery phase as we get into the spring and summer.”
