LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Lake Charles man was found guilty of breaking into a home and choking his son, the district attorney says.
On Thursday, James A. Lyons, 37, was found guilty of home invasion and third-offense domestic abuse battery, according to Calcasieu Parish District Attorney Stephen C. Dwight.
The district attorney’s office says in May, Lyons broke into a home his son was staying in, before jumping on top of his son while beating and choking him.
Sentencing for Lyons will be held Jan. 9, 2026.
