The grand opening of an Aldi grocery store on Banksville Road has sparked enthusiasm among locals, with more developments planned for the area.

"This is actually on my bucket list to go to an Aldi grand opening. I had to switch shifts at work because I was like, this is a big deal," said Iliana Razo, of Pittsburgh.
The location was chosen to provide more shopping options for residents, said Kevin Ely, divisional vice president for Aldi.
"This particular location was an area where we recognized that there were a lot of customers who were not being served," Ely said. "We do have a couple other locations nearby in Baldwin and Carnegie that many of our customers shop at, but
