Joe Mixon entered the season on the non-football injury list after missing training camp for the Texans with a foot injury. There was the expectation that Mixon would be available at some point this season, but those hopes quickly dwindled by Week 1.
Now, Mixon is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the year. But that's apparently news to Mixon himself.
Shortly after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Texans were shutting down Mixon for the rest of the season, the Texans running back took to Twitter/X to somewhat dispute the report. He also tagged his agent to seemingly tell him to feed Rapoport correct info.
While that wasn't a full denial (he doesn't say he's coming back this season), Mixon didn't appreciate how Rapoport reported on his status before the Texans told him directly.
ESPN also reported that Mixon would be done for the season. So, we'll have to see who is right on this story. But in the meantime, Nick Chubb and Woody Marks will be Houston's featured backs.
