Health care is a basic right, and no one should have to choose between life-saving care and financial bankruptcy. Congress must protect affordable health care for millions of Americans by extending the enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium tax credits. These credits have been a lifeboat for over 24 million people by lowering costs and driving the uninsured rates to their lowest level ever.
If these credits are allowed to expire at the end of 2025, premiums will spike forcing millions of people to lose coverage.
Families in our neighborhoods are already receiving notices of increases in their premiums. Relying on emergency care is not a viable alternative for health care especially for families and our senior citizens. Eventually costs for healthcare will increase for everyone withou
