A Mendon sweep and a Fowler five-set win in Thursday’s Division 4 volleyball state semifinals sent the Eagles and Hornets to the state championship game.

Fowler got to the final with a 26-24, 30-28, 20-25, 19-25, 15-8 win over Forest Park.

Paige Thelan had 32 kills and 11 digs for Fowler. Josie Simon and Elizabeth Wirth each had 12 kills. Neelah O’Rourke had 53 assists. Rachel Wirth had 37 digs.

Ava Fischer led the Trojans with 28 kills. Josie Anderson added 13 and Harper Anderson had 12. Elsie Williams had 32 assists with Vienna Price adding 17 assists and 17 digs. Harper Anderson also had 17 digs.

The Eagles eked out close wins in the first two sets. In the first set Fowler was a point away from taking it when O’Rourke set Elizabeth Wirth for a kill to make it 24-20, but Forest Park
