Police in Maryland are investigating two violent incidents in the same Fairland neighborhood after a man was found shot dead Wednesday night, November 19, officials said.
The first call came in around 7:54 p.m. in the 3400 block of Robey Terrace, when officers and fire personnel found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
Investigators said the man told officers he had been shot near Aston Manor Drive and ran to Robey Terrace, where someone called 911.
He was taken to a hospital, alert and conscious.
About an hour later, while canvassing the area shortly after 9 p.m., K9 officers made a second discovery.
Police said they found the body of 20-year-old Jadyn Mekhi Brown of Silver Spring in the 13800 block of Aston Manor Drive. Brown had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives responded and are investigating both incidents.
Police said it is too early to know whether the shooting on Robey Terrace and Brown’s killing are connected.
Brown was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 20.
No arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Montgomery County Police.
