HARRISBURG, ILL. (WSIL) — Hundreds of families lined Seright Street Tuesday afternoon as Heaven’s Kitchen celebrated the grand opening of its new food pantry location in Harrisburg. The ribbon cutting, followed by a community block party and the nonprofit’s annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway, marked a major expansion for an organization that has become a lifeline for people across southern Illinois.
Founder and Illinois State Senator Dale Fowler, the moment was the result of years of work, steady growth, and a mission that continues to evolve with the needs of the region.
