Visitors can expect an all-hands-on-deck police presence at Pittsburgh’s upcoming Light Up Night festivities, officials said Thursday.
“They’re going to see a lot of things, and they’re not going to see a lot things,” Cmdr. Tim Novosel said. “They’re going to see officers in uniform, walking around, talking to people, and they’re going to see officers in plainclothes.”
There will be officers manning traffic lights, on motorcycle, and on horseback, the commander said Thursday during a media briefing, and police will deploy drones and K9 units. Other officers will be monitoring city cameras in the Real Time Crime Center.
“They’re going to see Pittsburgh police almost in every aspect that police do,” he said.
