INDIANAPOLIS — There is a new way to track crime and hold IMPD officers accountable, and both police and community leaders agree it was a no-brainer.
"Transparency is fundamental to how we police and why we police," said IMPD Chief Chris Bailey.
The IMPD Transparency Website is now live and features crime, traffic citation and use of force stats, updated daily. The site was funded and supported by Indy Chamber and JP MorganChase.
“This is another step forward in our promise to be open and accessible to the community we serve,” Bailey said. “We want our neighbors to see the same data we use to make informed decisions and make sure our practices reflect fairness, consistency, and integrity,” he added.
