A new modular steel panel bridge that will carry traffic from the East Bay Bike Path, now spans from one side of the Barrington River to the other.

The bridge, built by the Acrow Corporation, weighs about 316,000 pounds It was designed to be built on land and progressively rolled out over the river. That is an important feature as the overhead power lines would limit the use of cranes.

Aetna Bridge Company is installing the bike path bridge. The project is expected to wrap up in the summer of 2026.
