PLEASANT GROVE — A student was hit by a truck while walking to school in Pleasant Grove Thursday morning. Her injuries were not immediately known.

Lt. Derek Shumway with the Pleasant Grove Police Department said the student was a 16 or 17-year-old girl. He said she was in a crosswalk when she was hit, but the exact location of the collision was not provided.

Shumway said the girl was unconscious at the scene and was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital. He did not provide information on her injuries, but he said he expected she would recover.

The driver was said to be cooperating with investigators, and police don’t believe impairment was a factor.
