BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) - The superintendent of Benton Harbor Area Schools spoke publicly for the first time about a confrontation with high school students that occurred earlier this month.
Dr. Simone Griffin said the incident was “unfortunate and regrettable” during an exclusive interview with WNDU 16 News Now. She said not all information circulating about the conflict has been accurate.
“Well where I am is really moving forward. It was an unfortunate and regrettable incident. And I think what’s been out there has not all been accurate,” Griffin said. “We know that there were two students, and the student that was charging me I was in the actual confrontation with — that’s the student who I spoke with, apologized to. She apologized to me.”
