LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Former Louisville Cardinal and New England Patriot Josh Minkins Jr. returned to his hometown Thursday to make the holidays a little brighter for local families.

Partnering with Louisville Metro Youth Transitional Services, Minkins spoke with students at the West End School and helped distribute Thanksgiving support.

“A lot of people aren’t fortunate, so for me to be able to give back with what I have means everything to me,” Minkins said.

According to Feeding America, more than 750,000 people in Kentucky face hunger, and nearly one-third are children.

With holiday costs rising, organizers say events like this help bridge the gap, if only for a day.
