HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The man accused of killing a former government informant appeared in before a circuit court judge on Thursday.
Clarence Luke , 42, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Jonnaven Monalim, 55.
Defense attorney Randall Hironaka requested that his client be granted bail in the amount of $500,000, as Luke is currently being held without bail.
Judge Ronald Johnson referred the case to Judge Trish Morikawa to oversee arguments for bail.
Morikawa will preside over Luke’s trial.
As of Thursday’s hearing, he is still being held without bail.
Monalim testified for the prosecution in the 2004 Pali Golf Course shootout, where members of two different illegal gambling operations opened fire at one another.
