Hamilton Police are probing the death of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle for the third time in a week.
The latest fatality happened Thursday at about 10 a.m. in the Upper Ottawa St.-Anson Ave. area of the West Mountain, which is less than 3 km from where a crossing guard was struck by a dump truck and killed exactly a week ago near the city’s Lime Ridge Mall.
Police said an 83-year-old man was walking his dog westbound in the crosswalk at Upper Ottawa and Anson when he was struck by a red, four-door sedan travelling northbound, prompting a response from police, firefighters and paramedics.
The man was rushed to a hospital and later died of his injuries. His dog, however, was unharmed.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigator
