OTTAWA — Jewish groups are applauding the tabling of a private member’s bill meant to outlaw the promotion of terror.
Passing first reading in the House of Commons on Monday, Bill C-257, sponsored by York Centre MP Roman Baber, will amend the criminal code to outlaw the willful promotion of terrorist activity or terrorist groups — a phenomenon that’s become common in Canada since the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas terror attacks.
