BUFFALO, N.Y. — At a news conference held on Thursday, a variety of transportation officials, traffic agencies, and police spoke of their efforts to coordinate ahead of the coming winter and any severe storms.

However, they also reminded the public that much of their safety depends on their own preparedness and common sense when venturing out.
