PORTLAND, Ore. — Police arrested a 36-year-old man Thursday after he allegedly threatened transit security guards with a weapon and refused to surrender to officers in the Hazelwood neighborhood.
The incident began at 12:56 p.m. when dispatchers received information about a disturbance involving a man who allegedly threatened two transit security guards with a weapon, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. Details about the weapon remain under investigation.
Portland police found the suspect near Northeast 131st Street and East Burnside Street. As officers worked to form an arrest team, the suspect walked east to Northeast 133rd Avenue and East Burnside Street and made repeated threats to harm police, according to the sheriff's office.
