RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Transportation is asking for public input on a proposed safety project along a 10-mile stretch of Garners Ferry Road in Richland County.
The section between Blue Johnson Road in Horrell Hill and Hezekiah Road near the Wateree Rifle and Pistol Range has been identified as a high-crash area.
The purpose of the project is to improve safety and reduce the number of crashes. SCDOT is considering a series of updates that include concrete medians, dedicated left-turn lanes, right-in and right-out turns, and restricted crossing U-turns.
