Oregon’s police certification agency on Thursday voted unanimously to dismiss a dishonesty allegation against Vancouver Deputy Police Chief Erica Nilsen, stemming from her time at the Portland Police Bureau.
After she left the Portland agency, Nilsen (formerly Erica Hurley) was accused of being untruthful when she shared personnel information with Portland’s Assistant Chief Jeffrey Bell. According to Portland investigative reports obtained by The Columbian, the allegation centered on a Feb. 21, 2023, meeting between Bell; Nilsen, a commander at the time; and Capt. David Abrahamson.
