Washington: The United States has imposed sanctions on two India-based companies and two individuals in what Washington describes as a broader effort to disrupt shipping and financial networks allegedly involved in Iran’s illicit petroleum trade.
On Thursday, the State Department designated 17 entities, individuals, and vessels across countries, including India, Panama, and Seychelles, which US officials say facilitate the sale and shipment of Iranian oil and petroleum products. Separately, the Treasury Department added 41 more entities, individuals, vessels, and aircraft linked to Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical exports.
Among those targeted is TR6 Petro India LLP (TR6 Petro), an India-based petroleum products trader. The US government claims TR6 Petro imported over $8 million worth
