LEESVILLE, La. (KALB) - Last week, senior wide receiver Michael Davis Jr. helped lead the Wampus Cats to a 52-7 victory over the Kenner Swamp Owls during the opening round of the LHSAA Division II Select State Playoffs.

The night ended with a celebration at Wampus Cat Stadium, as glitter covered the field.

“We [were] able to put some distance between us and them real quick...” said head coach Robert Causey. “If we can get started that fast, it just separates us from the opposition. That changes how offenses call the game because they know how fast things could turn.”

Davis has recorded 971 total yards this season and has emerged as a leader for the Wampus Cats.
