Nov 20, 2025; Houston, Texas, USA; Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (17) throws a pass against the Houston Texans in the first quarter at NRG Stadium.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen appeared to have suffered an injury in the first quarter of the Buffalo Bills' "Thursday Night Football" game against the Houston Texans.

The injury occurred when Allen was hit from behind by Texans defensive end Will Anderson while preparing to attempt a third-down pass.

Allen landed hard on his midsection and appeared to be in pain while remaining down and rolling around on the ground.

Allen was able to get up under his own power and walk to the Buffalo sidelines after briefly receiving attention from the team's medical staff. He did not immediately go to the blue medical tent; he sat down on the bench.

Allen was able to return to the field on the ensuing Bills drive. Amazon Prime's sideline reporter noted Allen had received treatment for a wound on his left elbow, but described it as looking like the equivalent of turf burn.

Allen did not miss a single offensive snap while dealing with the injury.
