BISMARCK — For the second-straight year, the Medina/Pingree-Buchanan volleyball team will be playing in the NDHSAA Class B State Tournament semifinals.
"I am so proud of my girls for battling and getting the win against a very good team," M/P-B head coach Jacie Connell said after the Thunder's win against Surrey in the opening round of the tournament. "We stayed confident and calm when things weren’t going our way and stepped up in the last three sets."
Surrey defeated M/P-B 25-22 in the opening set but the Thunder came back to defeat the Mustangs 25-22, 26-24, 25-22 to win the match.
Junior Destiny Opp hounded Surrey's defense with a match-high 22 kills. When Opp wasn't hitting, the Mustangs had to watch out for Brynn Sorenson. The senior posted 19 kills and a match-high of 28 digs. Vi
