Quinte Conservation has lowered its watersheds’ low-water condition while warning some properties still have supply issues and noting everyone should reduce water consumption.

The conservation authority oversees the watersheds of the Moira, Salmon, and Napanee Rivers. Its staff and members of the area’s Low Water Response Team have lowered the low-water condition from a Level 3 – the highest level – to Level 2.

Level 2 indicates a potentially-serious problem with water supply. It often means some minor water-supply issues have been reported and the potential exists for major problems.

Staff ask everyone in the region to reduce non-essential water usage by 20 per cent.
