PLANO, Texas — Two North Texas men were indicted in connection with an alleged plot that involved invading an island off Haiti, murdering the men on the island and using the women and children as sex slaves, federal officials say.
Gavin Rivers Weisenburg, 21, of Allen, and Tanner Christopher Thomas, 20, of Argyle, are charged with conspiracy to murder, maim or kidnap in a foreign country and production of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Texas. The two-count indictment against them was returned by a federal grand jury, officials say.
The two allegedly plotted between August 2024 and July 2025 to recruit and lead an illegal "expeditionary force" to the Island of Gonave, which is part of the Republic of Haiti, officials say.
