SOUTH ORANGE – In the spring of 2021, when Seton Hall men’s soccer beat Virginia Tech in a penalty shootout to advance to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals, the decisive kick was made by goalkeeper Andreas Nota after he spontaneously bumped a teammate from the spot and called his own number instead.

That teammate was freshman Mans Saebbo. The soccer gods were taking note, because four-and-a-half years later, Saebbo finally got his chance.

Now a postgrad with the Hall, Saebbo found himself back at the spot Thursday at the start the shootout against Siena in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

“I’m like, ‘Mans you’ve been waiting for this moment for five years,” head coach Andreas Lindberg said.
