ROCHESTER HILLS – Several Macomb County girls swimmers have survived to live another day.

With top-16 finishes at Thursday’s MHSAA Lower Peninsula Division 1 girls swim and dive state finals preliminaries at Oakland University, competitors will make it back to Friday’s final rounds.

The top eight finishers in the prelims will compete Friday in the fast heat, while the 9-16 finishers will compete in the consolation finals. The finals competition will begin at 12 noon.

In the 200 medley relay, Romeo’s foursome of seniors Alyssa Chambers, Giselle Stone and Harper Savage and junior Isabella Greco escaped the prelims in 15th place (1:53.72).
