EAST LANSING — The No. 2-seeded Michigan State women's soccer team ousted last season's national runner-up, Wake Forest, from the 2025 NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 win on Thursday, Nov. 20, in the second round.
MSU got its lone goal from forward Kayla Briggs in the 69th minute from the top of the penalty area on a right-footed shot that floated over the outstretched arms of Wake Forest goalkeeper Valentina Amaral. This marks the third consecutive season the Spartans have reached the Sweet 16.
