WILLIAMSPORT — Lycoming County’s register and recorder is asking a court to prevent the county commissioners from moving his office from the courthouse to the Third Street Plaza across the street.
David A. Huffman, in an “emergency petition” on Thursday, is seeking a preliminary injunction.
The request came two days after he sued the county and the three commissioners, Scott L. Metzger, Marc C. Sortman and Mark A. Mussina, over the same issue.
The commissioners are accused of refusing to engage in objective consultation or provide unbiased information about the Third Street Plaza space, where renovations for his office are complete.
Metzger declined to comment, saying the commissioners will respond in court. Huffman’s legal action is the latest in a dispute among the parties that began
