REVIEW: Kirby Air Riders is frantic, fun and expertly designed.

The man behind it, Kirby and Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakaurai, is a genius.

But his stubborn commitment to limiting the game's controls to "one button" is baffling.

Kirby Air Riders is bursting at the seams with modes and options, including settings that allow you to customise your controls, so the fact that your drift and inhale functions must be tied to a single button is nonsensical.

Worse still, there's no way to shift your attack input from the left thumbstick to a button; so you're stuck waggling the stick back and forth when there are literally six buttons and triggers doing nothing!

The latter never felt natural to me, even as I became obsessed with almost every other aspect of Kirby Air Riders.
