Drivers face rush-hour chaos as part of a major trunk road is closed following a lorry fire.
Emergency services are in attendance on the A14 near Blackthorpe, Suffolk, following the blaze. The fual-carriageway is closed between junction 43 for Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and junction 45 for Blackthorpe.
The fire damaged the road and so emergency resurfacing works are underway, the National Highways says. Due to this, motorists are diverted onto rural roads around Bury St Edmunds, up to Diss, on the Norfolk-Suffolk border, and back onto the A14 near Needham Market.
But this will add significant time onto journeys, the National Highways has warned this morning.
