A Supreme Court judge has said he is "satisfied beyond any doubt" that former Hobart teacher Keith Athol Bates-Willie knowingly committed unlawful sexual acts for a period of 27 years and still has shown no remorse.

Victims of Bates cried and hugged each other in the Supreme Court in Hobart as his 21-year jail term was handed down on Friday.

"There was overwhelming evidence of the guilt of the accused on all charges," Justice Stephen Estcourt said when sentencing Bates.

"I am satisfied beyond any doubt that the defendant committed each and every one of the unlawful sexual acts alleged."
