CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - 17 West Texas A&M student-athletes earned spots on the 2025 All-Lone Star Conference Football Teams.

The Buffs received major individual honors as RJ Martinez claimed Offensive Back of the Year recognition and Zach Phipps was selected as Newcomer of the Year.

Martinez finished the regular season throwing for 3,715 yards on 283-of-431 passing with 33 touchdown passes. He also contributed 281 yards rushing and seven rushing touchdowns.

Phipps, a sophomore, led the LSC with nine receiving touchdowns while hauling in 33 receptions for 591 yards to earn Newcomer of the Year recognition.

Conference team selections

Five Buffs earned All-LSC First Team recognition: Phipps, Kanyon Ives, Sean Johnson, Jamel Acosta-Lewis and James Ingham.
