A Class 4 student at Jaipur’s Neerja Modi School, who died by suicide weeks ago, had been subjected to relentless bullying in her classroom for 18 months, including classmates using “bad words” at her, while the school failed to intervene, a probe by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has found.

The 9-year-old girl died after jumping from the fourth floor of Neerja Modi School in Jaipur, and her parents alleged that she took the extreme step following persistent bullying and inaction by the teachers.

According to the report, the child repeatedly approached her class teacher for help but was dismissed, scolded, and told to “adjust” with her classmates each time. Even on the day she died by suicide, she pleaded with the teacher for over 45 minutes, yet no assistance was given.
