Authorities in Malkangiri district launched an investigation after a residential school student was found pregnant, raising serious concerns about student safety and accountability.

Officials confirmed that the incident occurred at SSD Residential Higher Secondary School in Govindpalli. A first-year student tested positive during a routine medical check conducted by the school matron after returning from the Dussehra vacation. The school authorities immediately informed senior officials and lodged a complaint at Mathili police station.
