In the wake of a recent student suicide case, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has ordered a comprehensive review of mental-health practices across all schools in the national capital. The government has begun writing to schools to check whether the mental-health standards prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are being properly implemented.
Sood said the government would extend full support to any school that requires help in strengthening its mental-health framework. “It is our responsibility to ensure that the next generation remains mentally healthy and does not fall into distress," he said.
A committee has also been constituted to investigate whether institutions have been following the prescribed mental-health guidelines. The panel is expected to submit
