Jammu and Kashmir, Nov 21: The Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather, today administered the oath‑taking ceremony for two newly elected MLAs from Nagrota and Budgam on Friday. Devyani Rana of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi from, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were formally inducted into the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

Devyani Rana secured her Nagrota seat by defeating Harsh Dev Singh of Panthers Party in the recently held Nagrota by-polls on Nov 11 the result of which was declared on Nov 11. The election in the Nagrota constituency, was necessitated after the passing of BJP MLA Devender Singh Rana on October 31, 2024.
