Thousands of households across Montreal’s West Island will lose power Friday night , with Hydro-Québec set to shut off electricity across areas spanning parts of Île-Bizard—Ste-Geneviève, Kirkland, Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Pointe-Claire, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Dorval and St-Laurent.

The outage — planned to allow repairs to equipment at the Des Sources substation in Dollard-des-Ormeaux — is scheduled to run from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday and will affect about 64,000 Hydro-Québec customers. People can see if the outage will affect them on the Hydro-Québec website .
