HOUSTON, Texas – A pilot walked away unharmed on Thursday after he was forced to make an emergency landing in the middle of Grand Parkway.
The incident was reported around 10:40 p.m. on Grand Parkway and West Road. According to authorities, the 42-year-old pilot was coming out of the West Houston Airport when he started having engine trouble west of the Grand Parkway.
The pilot tried to return to the airport but believes his cylinder failed, causing the single engine to fail. The pilot said he then had to make an emergency landing in a field on the Grand Parkway.
Although the pilot walked away unharmed, the plane did sustain damage during the landing.
