An urgent recall has been issued for a number of children's toys sold by Matalan due to concerns that they may pose a potential biohazard. The retail giant issued an urgent recall warning about the squishy dinosaur egg and unicorn egg toys after discovering they don't meet toy safety regulations.

The product presents a 'serious microbiological and choking risk' as the fidget toy may 'burst during normal use'. Worryingly, the toys also pose a 'microbiological risk' after it was discovered that the solution inside the squishy toy contains an 'excess of aerobic microbials', which could cause illness if inhaled or even if handled.
