SWAIN COUNTY, N.C. ( WHNS /Gray News) – A driver in North Carolina told troopers a bald eagle dropped a cat through her windshield.

The woman was driving on US 74 in Swain County on Thursday around 8:15 a.m. when it happened, officials with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.

According to troopers, the driver was not hurt, but the cat is dead.
