With the leaves off (most of) the trees, the landscape is looking a little drab − the perfect time for some twinkling lights, inflatable Rudolphs or placid Nativity scenes to spread some holiday cheer.
But when should you start decorating? We know there are strong feelings across the board on this issue.
For some folks, the minute that last candy bar is out of the bowl on Halloween, the totes of Christmas decorations are pulled from the attic. Others like to hang on to the pumpkins and mums at least until Thanksgiving. And for some, the hustle and bustle of this season − from shopping, to covering for co-workers on vacation to caring for kids who've finally caught the germs going around school − means the decorations go up at the last minute, and that's just fine by them.
