NEW DELHI: A Tejas fighter jet participating in the Dubai Air Show crashed on Friday after nosediving during an aerobatic display, the Indian Air Force (IAF) said in a statement. The HAL-built light combat aircraft went down at around 2.10pm (local time) while executing a manoeuvre, sending thick black smoke across the venue as spectators looked on. The Dubai Airshow is being held from November 17–21 at the DWC Dubai Airshow Site. The IAF confirmed that the aircraft crashed during a display sortie and said the pilot sustained fatal injuries. “An IAF Tejas aircraft met with an accident during an aerial display at Dubai Air Show, today.
