The ongoing Test series between India and South Africa has been more about the pitches. The Eden Garden strip caused quite a stir, with people curious to know about the reason why India demanded such a rank turner. The first Test saw a three-day finish where South Africa defeated India by 30 runs to take a 1-0 lead. As the teams gear up for the first-ever Test match in Assam, visiting captain Temba Bavuma found the pitch at Barsapara Stadium better than what was at Eden Gardens.

Addressing the media on the eve of the second Test, Bavuma said the Guwahati track looked like a typical sub-continental wicket, which aids batting in the first couple of days and then becomes conducive for the slow bowlers.
