Wonderla Holidays, a chain of amusement parks in India, expects its new Chennai amusement park to draw 7–8 lakh visitors in the first year and touch about a million visitors by year three or year four, Managing Director Arun K. Chittilappilly said. The company will open the park to the public on December 2 .
Chittilappilly said the project has been almost a decade in the making. “We signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Tamil Nadu in 2015… the scope of the park has changed, though it is a much larger offering,” he noted, adding that the park can handle up to 1.2-1.5 million visitors a year.
On revenue expectations, he said average revenue per user (ARPU) should fall in the same range as the Bengaluru park. Chennai’s ARPU is likely to be “somewhere between
