The Premier League have confirmed the dates for the 2026/27 season.
It includes the return of a more normal Boxing Day schedule after the traditional fixtures were abandoned this term .
Only one top-flight match will be played on December 26 this year, with Manchester United hosting Newcastle.
The Premier League announced on Friday that next season will begin on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Meanwhile, the final day of the campaign will see all 20 clubs in action on Sunday, May 30, 2027.
A statement from the Premier League explains: "Boxing Day 2026 falls on a Saturday and a Premier League weekend round - so a more normal Boxing Day schedule of matches will return next season."
A commitment has also been made to the welfare of players ahead of the upcoming season.
